Every agency looking at AI arrives at the same question. What can it actually touch? Our answer took decades to build, and it was built before anyone knew that was what it was for.

Decades of building for recruitment agencies.

Talisman has been writing software for recruitment agencies for decades. Perm, contract, temp and specialist shift — the desks have stayed the same and the work has changed underneath them every few years.

We built the next piece each time an agency asked for it. Sourcing. Compliance. Timesheets. Pay and billing. Portals. Reporting. Each one went in beside the last, on the same record, for the same desks.

That is a slow way to build a product. It is also the reason the thing is as wide as it is.

That produced a very broad, very deep stack.

Keep doing that for long enough and you end up with something unusual. One platform that covers the whole agency, end to end.

When AI agents arrived, we were among the first to put them inside recruitment technology.

Sourcing Sam came first. He reads the CVs, works the candidate lists and keeps the CRM tidy — the job a resourcer does all day, running while the desk gets on with the calls.

Sam worked. Agencies watched him run and asked the obvious next question: what else can one of these do?

Then the realisation: a broad stack means AI can pull the strings on all of it.

Point an agent at a narrow tool and it does a narrow job. It books the interview and stops. Someone still carries the work to the next system by hand, and the agency has bought an assistant for one corner of the week.

Point an agent at a stack that already covers the whole agency and something else happens. It can follow the work as far as the work goes — the candidate, the client, the job, the placement, the certificate, the hours, the invoice, the report on Monday morning. Every one of those already sat on the same record.

The breadth we had spent decades building turned out to be the thing that makes the agents worth having.The stack was the point all along. We just found out why.

So we opened the whole platform to AI and built every tool it needed.

That was the work of the last stretch, and it was a lot of work. Every action a consultant takes became something an approved agent can take for them. Search, read, write, draft, chase, check, run a report.

Wherever a consultant can click, an agent has a tool. We carried it the whole way through: compliance, timesheets, pay and billing included. That last part takes a platform years to earn the right to touch.

The same tools are open to ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Claude, and to agents your own team writes.
